If you have identified a clogged sink bug none of your other sinks are clogged, the problem probably lies within the drain lines to that particular sink. There are a number of ways to unclog a sink which this article will outline. Firstly, it is a fairly simple task but you will require a wash cloth, plunger, sink auger and possibly a bucket and pliers. The main causes of blocked sinks are usually food, hair or soaps. The first thing you can try to unclog a sink is to pour boiling water down the drain if you have metal pipes. However, do not use boiling water if you use plastic PVC pipes, otherwise, you will loosen the joints. If that does not work you can use a plunger and if you have a lavatory sink seal the sink outlet by using duct tape. Then you can place the plunger over the drain hole and use quick and sharp plunges to attempt to clear the blockage. If the plunger method failed to work, you can use a auger. You use the auger by extending the cable into the drain and when you feel a blockage, tighten the set screw and turn the crank handle. You may need to extend the cable further until you believe you have removed the clog. Then you can repeat and turn on the hot water from the tap to wash it down so the drain starts to flow.If you require any assistance with a clogged sink or any other plumbing issues, be sure to contact
